Subashis Roy was born 29 November 1988 is a Bangladeshi bowler who represents Sylhet Division in first-class and list A cricket and the Chittagong Vikings franchise in the Bangladesh Premier League. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast medium bowlerwho has been a steady performer in Bangladesh domestic cricket but, unlike his contemporaries, took a bit of time making it to the senior side.

As an 18-year old, Subashis made his Dhaka league debut for Cricket Coaching School during the 2006-07 season. He had trouble with his bowling action initially: he tended to stop dead at the popping crease before releasing the ball. His coaches Sarwar Imran and Saiful Islam helped sort the problem out, and Subashis went on to play for Bangladesh Under-19s in the 2008 World Cup in Malaysia. He had already taken seven wickets on first-class debut for Sylhet Division in the previous year.

After a disappointing early exit for Bangladesh, Roy went back to the domestic circuit and whetted his skills. He emerged to prominence with back-to-back successful seasons in the Dhaka Premier League which was the catalyst for him to work his way into the Bangladesh Test squad.
Roy made his Test debut against New Zealand at Wellington in Jan 2017 where he picked up 3 wickets in the game. He continues to be a regular member of the team till now. Roy represents Chittagong Vikings in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Subashis Roy went through quite the grind in domestic cricket. Took 21 wickets, including two five-fors in the 2008-09 first-class season. Took 21 List A wickets in the 2014-15 Dhaka Premier League and followed that up with 18 more in the next edition of the tournament to finally break into the Bangladesh senior squad. He was called up for the second Test against England in October 2016 but had to wait until December to make his debut – in the ODIs against New Zealand.
