Saif Hassan born 30 October 1998) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team during tour to Pakistan in February 2020.Young Saif Hassan grabbed headlines when he became the youngest Bangladesh player to notch up a First-class double century during the 2018-19 season. Having got into the domestic circuit from the National U19 setup, Saif has been a rising star, churning out consistent performances season after season. A solid right-hander who opens the batting, Saif has clearly shown all the qualities that are necessary to succeed at the highest level if and when he gets the opportunity. Having said that, he still quite raw and would need a bit more grooming before he can be unleashed in international cricket. Saif was picked in the squad for the Test tour of India in late 2019 but didn’t get a game, with injury also compounding his misery. It’s still early days for Saif who will probably have to play second fiddle to Shadman Islam as far as the race to be Tamim Iqbal’s opening partner is concerned. Nevertheless,

In February 2020, he was named in Bangladesh’s squad for the first Test match against Pakistan. He made his Test debut for Bangladesh, against Pakistan, on 7 February 2020. On 8 September 2020, BCB confirmed that Saif along with a staff member was tested positive for COVID-19 just prior to the training camp as a warm up for the test series against Sri Lanka which was scheduled to be held in October 2020. He was immediately asked to self isolated by the BCB and was left out of Bangladesh’s preliminary squad for the test series against Sri Lanka. A week later, he tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in his second COVID-19 test.

In February 2021, he was selected in the Bangladesh Emerging squad for their home series against the Ireland Wolves. He was one of the leading run-scorers in the unofficial ODI series, with 190 runs in 5 matches, which included a ton. In April 2021, he was named in Bangladesh’s preliminary Test squad for their series against Sri Lanka. In November 2021, he was named in Bangladesh’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Pakistan. He made his T20I debut on 19 November 2021, for Bangladesh against Pakistan

Saif could be a future superstar if he is handled with care.
