Dolar Mahmud  born December 30, 1988 is a Bangladeshi first-class cricketer. Dolar Mahmud is a right arm fast medium bowler who represented the Bangladesh U-19 squad with little success. Fast-tracked into the national squad for the 2008 Asia Cup, Mahmud struggled against the big boys from the sub-continent getting smashed for 118 runs in just 11 overs from the big three. It was no surprise to see him dropped. He returned a year later to demolish the Zimbabwean top-order in a spell of 4/28 to earn his first man of the match award.

But two ordinary outings against the same opposition at home in Nov 2009 saw him go out of favour with the selection committee and he has not been able to make a comeback since then.

Dolar Mahmud plays first-class cricket for the Khulna Division and even has a hat-trick, against Rajshahi, to his name. He dreams of playing international cricket for Bangladesh and the Under-19 World Cup in 2008 is the ideal platform to catch the spotlight. He picked up a 4/28 match winning haul to win the match against Zimbabwe at Zimbabwe in 2009 for which he won the man of the match award. He also played  Bangladesh A, Chittagong Division, Dhaka Metropolis, Khulna Division, Bangladesh Under-19, Khulna Royal Bengals, Prime Bank Cricket Club, Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity, Victoria Sporting Club, Abahani Limited, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Comilla Victorians, Gazi Group Cricketers.

The speedster didn’t have the best time in that edition and managed to pick up just four wickets in six games but he was still retained in the Under-19 scheme of things. Dolar Mahmud went on to play first class cricket for Khulna and in 2007 he toured South Africa with the list A team of Bangladesh. The tour turned out to be a fruitful one for him as he took a five wicket haul and impressed the selection committee. The performance earned him an ODI debut in June 2008 against Pakistan at Dhaka and he has been in and out of the squad ever since. The pacer has made a few more appearances since his debut but he would be keen on stringing together a few good performances so that he may become a more regular feature in the ODI squad.
