Ariful Haque was born 18 November 1992 is a Bangladeshi cricketer.Ariful Haque has been around for ages and yet is still very much young in terms of age. The experience has made him a better player over the years although it took the Bangladesh Premier League to fast-track him into the national side. An aggressive all-rounder who can smash the ball around and hit huge sixes, Ariful made a massive statement during the 2017 BPL season which probably was the big break needed. His explosive batting skills aside, Ariful is also a more than handy medium pacer and his all-round credentials can add immense balance for Bangladesh who have long yearned for a seam-bowling all-rounder. With veteran Shakib already giving them excellent depth, someone of Ariful’s ability could be a boost, particularly in the shorter formats where he can be a dangerous commodity.

In February 2018, Ariful Haque was named in Bangladesh’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Sri Lanka. He made his T20I debut for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka on 15 February 2018. In August 2018, Ariful was one of twelve debutants to be selected for a 31-man preliminary squad for Bangladesh ahead of the 2018 Asia Cup. Later that month, he was named in Bangladesh’s fifteen-man squad for the tournament, but he did not play.

In October 2018, Ariful was named in Bangladesh’s One Day International (ODI) and Test squads for their series against Zimbabwe. He made his ODI debut for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe on 26 October 2018. He made his Test debut for Bangladesh, also against Zimbabwe, on 3 November 2018. His batting improved in the following four seasons, culminating in a short stint with Khulna Titans in the 2017 BPL. He made only 237 runs in 12 games but it had an impact on his team’s progression into the last four.

He was first called up to the Bangladesh T20I side in February 2018 and later found a place in the Asia Cup 2018 squad following Sabbir Rahman’s suspension.
