Abu Hider Rony born 14 February 1996 is a Bangladeshi cricketer. Hider was born and brought up in Netrokona, a small town 168 km to the north of the capital Dhaka. He is one of the very few professional cricketers to hail from that part of the country, so he had done well enough to make it to the age-group sides. However, the next step became arduous. He didn’t have a regular place in the Dhaka Division, so when he was picked by Comilla Victorians for the 2015 Bangladesh Premier League, nobody really recognised him.He made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team in January 2016.He made his Twenty20 International debut for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe on 20 January 2016..In August 2018, he was one of twelve debutants to be selected for a 31-man preliminary squad for Bangladesh ahead of the 2018 Asia Cup. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for Bangladesh against Afghanistan on 20 September 2018. In November 2019, he was named in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh.

Abu Hider Rony has managed to carve a niche for himself through his pace. For a country that has not produced an outright pace bowler, Hider is a welcome change. He first shot to the scene in 2012 after rising through the age group cricket. While the national call seemed distant, he was selected by the BPL side Comilla Victorians in 2015. Abu impressed immediately with his pace and ability to deliver pin point yorkers. The selectors showed faith in him and he was awarded a place in the national T20 side in 2016. However, he could not cement his place in the side and was dropped soon.

Abu Hider Rony Played Bangladesh U19, Comilla Victorians, Bangladesh, Bangladesh Cricket Board XI, Barisal Bulls, Bangladesh U23, Dhaka Dynamites, Bangladesh A, Bangla Tigers, Cumilla Warriors.
